Trent Reznor: Country Music Award Nominee, But How?

Trent Reznor, the country artist? Well, not really but he and Nine Inch Nails have a Number 1 song thanks to “Old Town Road.” How you ask?

The song uses a sample from NIN’s album “Ghost I-IV” with the track “34 Ghost I-IV.” Both songs are below and you hear the part clear as day.

Not only does Trent have his first every #1 but he’s also nominated for CMA’s “Event of the Year” Award. The award is given to the artist and producers of the winning track. Since Reznor and Atticus Ross produced the original track, they’re nominated alongside the likes of Miley Cyrus and Garth Brooks.

The Country Music Awards will be held November 13.

Good luck Trent!
