Picking up an injured wild animal on the side of the road seems like a noble idea, but think twice about the animal you’re picking up!
A woman in Colorado picked up an injured bobcat on the side of the road and placed it in her vehicle – RIGHT NEXT TO HER CHILD. The woman then called wildlife officials who arrived at the scene to see the unrestrained animal in the SUV. Thankfully for the family, the cat was badly injured and couldn’t move.
The agency issued a warning to all residents reminding them never to pick up wildlife because “this could have been tragic.” So if you see a warning and think to yourself “who could’ve been dumb enough to so such a think to cause this warning?” Well, you found it.
The bobcast was later put down.
This is the sight that greeted @COParksWildlife officer Sarah Watson when she responded to a call about an injured bobcat on Wednesday. An unrestrained wild bobcat in the back of an SUV under a blanket. A child's car seat was just feet away. NEVER PICK UP WILDLIFE! pic.twitter.com/x8GXL0zvNv
